Overview
BeatSets is a mobile app for DJ sets and live DJ streams. Listeners discover, save and share sets, follow DJs and tune in to live streams, alone or with friends. DJs upload their sets, go live and track their audience.
The challenge
DJ sets are long mixes, but most audio apps are built around three-minute songs. Listeners need one place to find sets, follow DJs and share the moment, and DJs need a way to upload, go live and see who is listening.
What we built
We built two experiences in one app: a listener side for discovery, playback and social listening, and a DJ side for uploads, live broadcasting and analytics. Sets keep playing in the background with lock-screen controls, and live chat, reactions and shared sessions run over WebSockets.
